Abstract
A 76-year-old woman was referred to our emergency department with right lower quadrant abdominal pain and right thigh pain. An emergency abdominal CT scan revealed incarcerated right obturator hernia with herniation of an ileal loop; an emergency laparoscopic surgery was performed. During the operation, an incarcerated ileum, about 3 cm in length, was found in the right obturator canal. After the reduction of hernia, a necrotic change with perforation was noticed. A bowel resection with an end-to-end anastomosis was performed, and the pelvic defect was closed with purse-string sutures. The postoperative course was uneventful.
